We are officially on Thanksgiving Break…which means the real fun is about to begin. Please be praying for everyone in the production and the people who will be coming to see it. Spiritual warfare is hard.
A quick look at the upcoming schedule:
- Saturday, November 30 is tech setup day. Tech and backstage crews will begin setting up for the last two weeks of rehearsal.
- Sunday, December 1 is Tech Rehearsal, after second service. Everyone who has a speaking part is needed. There will be lunch for you, then we will go beginning-to-end. This might take awhile, so be prepared.
- Monday, December 2 – EVERYONE is required for this full rehearsal. This is the first rehearsal for Scrooge Chorus. We will go through all the songs, with the intro/outro of each song. IF YOU ARE IN SCROOGE CHORUS, PLEASE REVIEW THE POSITION CHARTS ON THE CHOREOGRAPHY PAGE so that you have an idea of where you will be on stage. We will go over it all and make sure you know what you’re doing. (The main thing you are doing is singing and smiling)
If you are at all confused about anything, please email tim as soon as possible. We may repeat ourselves a lot over the next few weeks, but we would rather over-communicate than leave you confused.
It’s the last week before Thanksgiving break! This means we are VERY close to showtime. Rehearsal begins promptly at 7pm tonight.
We have a lot of updated information on the Choreography and Cast List pages. Mainly, the updated info is group and group entry info for each song. Updates for RTB, People, TYVM, and WYS have all been posted.
Our make-up co-director, Gentry Haffa, has the following information for all cast members:
If you have never been in Scrooge before, you should order a makeup kit. These kits contain foundation that is specifically made for the theatrical stage. If you’re a Scrooge veteran, you may want to make sure you know where your kit is and that it is still usable. Most of the time, one kit per family is acceptable as long as you don’t mind sharing.
There will be extra kits in the make-up room if you would like to use one. However, they are shared among everyone.
EVERYONE ON STAGE WEARS MAKEUP…men included. So, it’s not a question of whether you will need a kit or not. It’s whether you want to share with others. (This is mainly a question of hygiene:) Most people like to have their own, or one with their own family.
Makeup kits are $23.00 and are prepaid only.
Gentry will be at practice next Thursday, Nov 21 at 6:30pm.
Please bring your makeup money in cash or a check made payable to Faith Assembly of God. (Sorry, but she will not have change available.)
**If you pay online, please make sure to let her know or she won’t know to order you a kit.**
If you are unable to come to this practice, please text or call Gentry at 239-339-3566 to make other arrangements.
Makeup kits not paid for in advance (or arrangements not made with Gentry prior to Thursday) will not be ordered.
It’s an all-choreography night tonight (November 12) as we rehearse RTB, WYS, and People in the Auditorium beginning promptly at 7pm. (Kids will be upstairs rehearsing Schoolroom, too.)
The Position Charts are now available for Ring the Bells and Whaddaya Say. These charts show: 1) who you are with, 2) where you go, 3) when, during the songs. View or download the pdf’s on the Choreography page.
The cast lists are currently being updated to show the groups as well. These should be finished…soon.
NEW VIDEOS and CELEBRATOR LIST
Updated “Ring the Bells” videos have been posted on the Choreography page.
Who are Celebrators? We’ve answered that question on the Cast List page. The first rehearsal for Celebrate and the Celebrators is next Thursday, November 7.
We have posted the latest revision to the cast list, catching up on some people who were missed and correcting some small errors in song assignments.
The cast list also shows which songs you are in. Remember, if you are listed in a song (and you are NOT part of the Chorus), then you are NEEDED when we rehearse the song.

And welcome to some new names we added to this year’s cast: Ezekiel Horshor, Aiden Jenkins, Bennet Peterson, Greg Pounders, and Caroline Ramp.

We’ve moved things around one more time (we’re trying to make the best use of your time), so we’ve published one more schedule change.
This will NOT affect most of you…but PAWNBROKER, WINSTON, and PERSON #1, PERSON #2, PERSON #3, PERSON #4 should take special note! We’ve moved your rehearsal from this Tuesday and relocated it to November 21.
This is also a chance to remind you that there will be a Choreography Workshop next Sunday, October 20, after the second service, in the Auditorium. This is an optional workshop, but will be a very good way to get ready for our first Townspeople Rehearsal on the 22nd. It will also be very useful for you if this is your first year in Scrooge.
ALL LINES MUST BE MEMORIZED AT THIS POINT. From this point on, scripts will not be allowed as we rehearse. (Bring them for reference and to make notes, though.)
SPEAKING OF SCRIPTS…there is also a revised script available. This is just an update to fix some typos and formatting issues. (It’s now only 51 pages long, instead of 52:)
If you have any issues or questions, please let us know. We’re praying for you and what God is going to do through you!
Auditions for speaking and singing roles onstage begin Wednesday, August 28. If you are new to being involved in Scrooge, please sign up for an audition. Even if you do not want a speaking role, if you want to be onstage, we want to speak with you. Click on the Audition Signup link at the top of the page for more information.
Everyone who wants to be involved should also submit a participation form. This includes onstage and behind-the-scenes roles. Click on the Participation Signup link at the top of the page for more information.
